Córdoba
Córdoba is one of the most important economic centers in the country. It has with many contrasting features— it is both a cultural and tourist-like destination, a traditional and modern city, with an industrialized as well as a home-made production.
A hilly landscape and favorable weather conditions are distinctive in Córdoba, a place where natural sceneries are mixed with colonial monuments. Little towns, historical antiques and cave paintings are found in a pleasant valley landscape, high plains and gorges.
Cordoba’s hills rise toward the northwestern Pampas plains. They are part of the “Sierras Pampeanas” mountain range, reaching 2,790 m high in the Champaquí hill. All these hills are particularly appealing because of their fertile valleys, deserts and salt mines.
All along the way northward, you will find many 17th and 18th century chapels and farmhouses inherited from the Jesuits.

Curriculum Information
• Courses start every Monday of the year. Students take a placement test at 9 o’clock in the morning. The course starts on the same day.
• A 4-week Intensive Spanish Cultural Immersion course in Córdoba, with 4 hours of daily Spanish language classes.
Students will receive 20 hours of language instruction a week, including an adaptation course (orientation and modeling real-life situations to facilitate students’ adaptation to new cultural environment), a corrective course of Spanish pronunciation, Spanish Grammar, Communicating in Spanish, Argentinean and South American Culture studies.

The courses will cover the following aspects
• Listening comprehension, phonetics and pronunciation
• Conversation, reading, writing
• Vocabulary building and lexical practice
• Grammar
• Stylistics
• Language history

Students will also participate in a variety of cultural enrichment lectures and activities. These activities are an essential component of the language acquisition process and attendance is mandatory.
This intensive course provides a solid foundation in both grammar and practical conversation skills. The course meets for four hours daily, five days a week, for 4 weeks. Peer helpers provide additional practice hours in the afternoon, on location or during the weekly excursions to cultural and historical sites of the region. Each student is adopted by an Argentinean Host exposing them further to the Argentinean culture and language. Seminars, films, participation in local cultural events are part of the overall program.
Students should improve their ability to communicate in Spanish from the isolated dialogue situations of the classroom, to the everyday realities of modern Argentinean life. They should be able to interact smoothly with their cultural environment. Students who attack their study program aggressively can learn up to 2000 new vocabulary items, turning an average student vocabulary of essential items into the fluent working vocabulary of a functional adult speaker. Furthermore, students will have a deep exposure to Argentinean culture.

Student Residences

If you prefer to be independent, want to mix with other students, socialize easily and want to practice your newly acquired knowledge of Spanish. Student residences are centrically, all of them are conveniently located in the city center and within walking distance from the academic center. Choosing this type of accommodation will allow you to meet international and Argentinean students in a stimulating and fun environment. Student residence will give you a sense of independence. You will be accommodated in a double room and share the bathroom with up to 4 other students. Although meals are not included in this type of residence, there is a large kitchen open at the students' disposal. This communal space is fully equipped with all the essentials: utensils, stoves, ovens, microwaves, electric coffee makers and refrigerators. If you like your independence, this is the choice for you. Residential accommodation gives you the opportunity to socialize with friends from around the world.
